UK consultation on telco cyber security rules

The UK Government is consulting on new cyber security regulations for telecoms providers. The proposals have been tabled pursuant the overarching duties introduced last year under the Telecommunications (Security) Act 2021.

Whilst the reforms will apply to telecoms providers, they will also affect technology vendors in the sector as telcos will be expressly tasked with managing security risks within their supply chains.

Responses to the consultation are due in to the DCMS by 10 May. The consultation can be found at: DCMS Consultation on telecoms security rules
